Happy New Year
May you be a moonlight of the day, not seeking dazzling glory, nor confusing the waves of the mundane world.
This Year's New Year Game#
::: warning
The event has ended, game analysis has been released, and game resources have been archived.
:::
As per tradition, it's time for this year's New Year game. Recently, a dedicated site was designed for the New Year game, so there's no need to write code in Typecho articles anymore 😆.
Below is this year's new game, which is much simpler than last year's game. You can obtain the key without any programming knowledge. Enjoy It~ 🎉
Analysis#
First, thanks to @电脑星人 and @FantasyLand の 暗梦 for taking the time to write the game analysis for this game, and to the computer star for pointing out the errors in the provided information. I also apologize to those who took many detours due to the incorrect information!! The puzzle-solving process in these two articles is the standard process for this puzzle.
Additionally, besides obtaining the second step audio using slow-scan television technology through the fifth point ' Eastern No. 1 was the first spacecraft to use this transmission technology in audio files, which enables radio transmission and reception of images', you can also decode the audio by throwing it into audio editing software (like Adobe Audition), and then opening the spectrum (Shift + D) to see the software used to decode this audio MMSSTV. I forgot to provide this puzzle-solving method when communicating with the computer star! (I really forgot!!
Game Resource Archive#
The resources for this game have been archived and redeployed to Vercel for interested students to try later.
Game Data#
A total of 10 students completed the puzzle in this New Year game, with the first student successfully completing it on February 9, 2024, at 10:42 AM. During the game's open period, 7 ratings were received. Based on the ratings, the difficulty of this game was set too low (the average score for difficulty rating items was 1.28, with 3 being just right and 5 being too difficult), and the game process was slightly short (the average score for process length rating items was 2.14). Next year's New Year game will be adjusted based on this rating result.
Other Abandoned Design Ideas#
While designing the game, several plans were considered, but after going through the game process, it was felt that these plans had too high a learning cost and were not very friendly to students without a coding background, so a simpler game plan was ultimately adopted.
One key step in one of the plans was to repair a damaged QR code to obtain the key. For students who have not encountered the principles of QR code generation, it would take a lot of time to understand this principle. Of course, a simple QR code repair game may also be designed in the future 😎. Here’s a link to the QR code generation principles I looked at when designing this plan.
Another plan involved providing a text composed of Emoji characters and English text (or a short English novel), where each Emoji corresponds to a letter in English. The strict adherence of this Emoji text to the letter frequency of the English text would yield the corresponding letter mapping, ultimately obtaining the key.
